MP3: Bloody Tears (Rock Mix).mp3

This hard rock tune, which I stumbled across while searching my music for a suitable DWI MP3, is the secret track that was available on select copies of the Sega Saturn version of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It's a remix of the classic Castlevania song "Bloody Tears," which first appeared in Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest. I understand it has made an appearance - in some shape or form - in practically every Castlevania game since.

Michuri Yamane, who scored the music for Castlevania: Symphony of the Night itself, if I am not mistaken, was also the artist who brought us the rock arrangement of Bloody Tears. This version of the MP3 was editted by me to cut its length from 4:49 down to 2:13. There was also originally a drum and guitar solo in the middle which, while very cool, was not well-suited to DWI. I hope the new transition feels natural. Players who enjoy this song may want to seek out the full version, as well. ^_^

I decided on Bloody Tears ~Rock Mix~ for my next DWI because I found it to be wonderfully intense, expertly mixed, and would include some deliciously sophisticated rhythms for me to work with. Not to mention, at a natural 240.4 BPM (the drum beat ensures that it really does get up to that speed /without/ doubling up the tempo), it's extremely fast. It will probably be among the fastest DWIs I will ever do, as few songs warrant such a tempo.

The Basic steps are hard as basic steps go, being a 5-footer on a very fast song. On Maniac, this song should provide a suitable 9-foot challenge, even moreso than my last DWI (Luv to Me - Ucchie's Edition).

I am also happy with the Trick steps for this one, as they are quite enjoyable without being too easy or too hard. That being said, I strongly recommend you try the Trick steps before the Maniac steps, even if you're good enough to take on the latter, as they each accentuate a different rhythm within the song. Consequently, it's best to try the Trick steps first to enjoy the song and get a feel for it, before you start to take on the real challenge.

Even more so than Luv to Me - Ucchie's Edition, crossovers are very important here. Bloody Tears has an intense rhythm and stream factor throughout, but the challenge does not rely at all on a necessity for 'toetapping.' Bloody Tears on Maniac is an excercise in technique. For best results, try using your left foot to hit the right arrow - or your right foot to hit the left arrow - whenever it feels natural; you will save yourself a lot of energy and keep a longer combo in the process. This goes for the keyboard, too. Have fun!
