An arborist, or (much less commonly) arboriculturist, is a specialist in the practice of arboriculture, which is the cultivation, management, and research of private trees, hedges, vines, and various other perennial woody plants in dendrology and gardening. Arborists generally concentrate on the health and safety of individual plants and trees, as opposed to managing forests or gathering wood (silviculture or forestry). An arborist's scope of job is for that reason unique from that of either a forester or a logger.

Many champ tree programs concentrate finding and gauging the biggest single-trunk instance of each varieties. There are three fundamental specifications generally measured to define the dimension of a single trunk tree: tree elevation dimension, tree girth measurement, and tree crown measurement. Foresters additionally execute tree quantity dimensions. A comprehensive guideline to these basic measurements is supplied in The Tree Measuring Standards of the Eastern Native Tree Society by Will Blozan. These are summaries of exactly how to measure trees are also provided by various teams associated with documenting large trees all over the world. These consist of among others: a) American Forests Tree Measuring Standards; b) National Register of Big Trees - Australia's Champ Trees: Tree Dimension, Champions and Confirmation; c) Tree Register: A distinct record of Notable and Old Trees in Britain and Ireland - Exactly how to determine trees for addition in the Tree Register; and d) NZ Notable Trees Trust. Various other criteria also gauged include trunk and branch volume, canopy structure, cover volume, and total tree shape. Summaries of several of these more advanced measurements are reviewed in Blozan above and in "Tsuga Search Dimension Protocols" by Will Blozan and Jess Riddle, September 2006, and tree trunk modeling by Robert Leverett and Leverett and others. The proper measurement procedures for multi-trunk trees and other more exotic forms are much less well-defined, however some basic guidelines exist below.
.Yaniv turned our hedge-pocalypse into a manicured masterpiece, including a particularly rebellious laurel. He arrived on time and completed work as estimated and on budget. Super professional, and left our yard looking sharp! Thank Yaniv and team, I'm sure you'll be hearing from us again soon! Highly recommend.
Yaniv was wonderful to work with, and he really listened to what I was wanting to have done which included cutting back branches from both sides of the house, taking out dead trees/trunks, trimming branches away from power lines. He also beautifully pruned and brought down the height of a maple tree, while taking into consideration keeping a good level of privacy coverage between us and the neighbour. He was reasonably priced for coming out to West Vancouver, and we will be having him do more work for us in future!
Yaniv and his crew were great. Called with a request that needed to be taken care of quickly. Responded to me right away and because they had a short window free between jobs they had it done the next day. Would recommend and use in the future.
